Greatest Catastrophes On History: Caused By Human?
The result of global warming is clearly apparent. All nations around the globe have already experienced remarkable occurrences due to lack of concern of most individual, in the end who suffers? We are each responsible of our own actions, when we tend to neglect things around us, it gives back what has been hurled to it.
Do you still remember the "killer tsunami" in Thailand that had a death toll of almost 150,000 lives, how about the struck of hurricane "Katrina" in the united states, the typhoon "Ondoy" in that almost deleted the Philippines on the world map, and who can forget the earthquake that stroke Haiti on January 12 that lasted for about 35 seconds?
Thousands of lives were squandered because of those tragedies. There were few who luckily survived but were left homeless broke and wouldn't even know how to start another life.
If we are going to figure things out, we'll find out that we are to blame and contributed most of the causes of the calamities that ended the lives of many. Surprised? You shouldn't be. Here are some of the proofs that man throw in a lot regarding catastrophic incidents all around him:
Denotations of nuclear devices at sea may lead to formation of tsunami.
Aside from earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, underwater explosions also contribute a lot on triggering a tsunami.
Warm ocean water and low atmospheric stability mad lead to hurricane formation.
Pre- existing disturbance, moist mid- atmosphere and upper atmosphere divergence are all important factors for hurricane formation. Basically, the carbon dioxide emission plays a very significant role in producing greenhouse effect which makes the atmosphere burning hot which makes the donates to making the sea warm. This condition may lead to "fish kill" which is currently encountered in the Philippines. To be of help, Carbon reduction is a must.
Improper waste management can lead to severe flooding.
Aside from heavy rains which are the evident source of flooding, improper waste management along with illegal deforestation is one of the major reasons why there was severe flooding on countries like the Philippines. Foremost causes of flooding are drain blockages and lack of trees which are intended to hold the soil and water to avoid landslides and vast downpour purportedly intended for heavy rains. Plant a tree, it won't just help to diminish flooding, it is also an immense action in carbon reduction.
Mining Causing Earthquakes, Study Says.
Whether a natural phenomenon or an event caused by human, an earthquake results to a complete heartbreak that strikes astonishingly which makes it even worst. Mining can lead to formation of an earthquake too, the most damaging earthquake in Australia's history was caused by humans, new research says. That quake was triggered by changes in tectonic forces caused by 200 years of underground coal mining, according to a study. Who said earthquakes are only natural events? The greatest earthquake in Australia occurred because of coal mining which led to millions of life sacrificed.
We cannot just be sitting comfortably on our sofa watching televisions; we can do something to help. Although our actions may not change the world all at once, at least contribute something in order to alleviate the present condition of the earth. When initiatives from all of us where gathered, it will tremendously create one big change. Act now, before it's too late.
