    On April 22, 1970, the first massive "Earth Day" was held in the United States, which marked the beginning of American environment movement, while urging the U.S government to take some measures to control environment pollution. This activity obtained the approval of UN. Since then, the annual April 22 has been identified as the "World Earth Day".
      The earth is the common home of mankind. However, in recent decades, people are grabbing resources from natural world at its maximum, in the mean time, people also destroyed the global ecological environment, leading to a rapid change of global climate and environment. And now, people began to pay more attention on energy-saving and environmental protection.
      In recent years, international community is taking measures to protect the global environment gradually.  And environment issues had been brought into "United Nations Millennium Declaration" drafted in 2000. In February 2006, "Kyoto Protocol" aiming to control greenhouse gas emission entered into force, which marked a big step of environment protection. 
      "World Earth Day" is coming, shan't we do something? Resource saving is the first step to protection our globe. Every member of the society should do it from oneself, saving every drop of water, every unit of electricity, using energy-saving products. Taking heating facilities as an example, producing heat with cast iron stove is not only save energy but also with little pollution. Make full use of your existing fireplace, and install a wood stove fireplace insert is a good way to save electricity and coal resource. Maybe, it is not easy to see the immediate interest when we do something. However, the long-term interest is what we chasing. Just like when we want to reduce home heating costs, we bought a wood stove blower which may cost us some money first, but for a long-term return, what we get is not only the sum of our daily savings but also achieve the goal of saving the fuel resource and electricity. So what I want to say is that the interest of future generations is our common responsibility.
