YOUNG CALVES TORTURED TO DEATH BY MANIC YOUTHS DURING TOURIST FESTIVAL IN SPAIN

 

Allhaurin de La Torre faces world condemnation.

 

In the eagerness to capture public attention in the style of Hemingway bull runs, and only a walk away from his villa in Churriana, Malaga, the Mayor of Alhaurin de la Torre patronised a local version. It unfortunately backfired with the two young calves sacrificed mercilessly at the hands of a mob of youth that would have embarassed a band of killer chimpanzees. The horror scenes which have spread around the world with disgust and disdain speaks volumes against a country that is intent on neglecting industry and making tourism its default economy.

Despite facing the economic difficulties of a country with the highest unemployment rate in Europe, cruelty features highly among its local sports which are gradually wearing very thin with its traditional British visitors. Radio commentators discuss with relish the goring wounds and weaknesses of the bulls without regard for the repugnance felt by any well bred listener caught unawares. The primitive mentalities of those who participate in the sport and propagate its entertainment value as an art form, is not visible to them., thinking that it is one of the world´s exportable delights. The European Union has despite its various pleas, found itself against a brick walk when complaining about the acts of barbarity with animals including horns lit up with kerosene pads and bulls gouged to death by the public and bullfighters. Goats even, thrown from towers have been re-utilised the following year despite broken limbs, in an attempt to show economy in cruelty. There is little doubt that the sport is an illness in people who somehow find solace in these acts of cruelty and the Government is afraid to lose voters for the sake of animals that they, as Spaniards, feel are not worth the bother.

The enormous response to the blatant torture of the young calves to the point of exhaustion after severe batterings on the head and twisted necks, has terrifed the Pathetic Mayor, Juan Martin Seron not because of the shame of such evil spectacles in the the 21st. Century, but because of the intensity of the complaints by You Tube visitors.

Spain continues to mount these spectacles throughout the country and the modern young who enjoy a better education than their parents did, are beginning to show signs of revulsion. Meanwhile, even the King attends these festivals although his wife Princess Sophia of Greece, mercifully, refuses to do so.
